Adjusting to our new lives

We've been home from the hosptial for 6 days, and adjusting well to our new lives. We are SO SO fortunate that Jarrod's job allows him to have the Holidays off, with the exception of Christmas gigs. These gigs take only a few hours a week, and make up for the loss of income from not being able to teach while school is out for the holidays. So, other than a few nights a week for a few hours, I have a partner with me to help me figure out what to do with this baby until school starts up again in January. I don't know how people do it alone, or with their partners gone to work all day.
I am recovering very well. Except for the set back of getting sick in the hospital, this recovery has been a breeze. I was up and walking around pretty well without much pain at all the next day. I needed help handling the baby, but it was way better than I was expecting it to be. Right now, I don't even feel like I had surgery last week (and I've felt like that for a few days now). I am able to do housework, and I even went to Target last night! It took everything in me not to stop everyone I saw to tell them about my new baby at home and whip out the cell phone pictures. (I ended up only showing the check out lady at Target.)

Levi has been truly amazing. I hope I'm not jinxing anything, but he has just been perfect. He pretty much only cries when he is getting his diaper changed, and he just kind of whimpers to let us know he needs something. He wakes up on his own like clockwork when he needs to eat every three hours (at night that is, I have to wake him during the day). He is the most alert just after he eats. He just keeps his eyes open WIDE and looks around and makes some great faces.

I love him!

How does Phoebe like him? Is she curious or indifferent or pleased? Just wondering how your first baby likes your second. :)

Hi Stephanie and Jarrod. This is Joanna Mitcham (Lindsey and Katie's mom). I love the pictures and the blog has been so nice to read...the poo story really made me smile and really brought back some vivid memories of my own...ugh. Anyway when it is your own baby doing the pooing it just does not seem to phase us at all. It is part of the joy of being a parent. Would you have ever thought poo and joy would be related.
Anyway thanks for sharing and I can't wait to actually see Levi in person one day soon. And the girls are ready to babysit at the drop of a hat....
Congrats again and God bless.
Joanna Mitcham
