4 years ago today I was coming to the end of what seemed to be the longest countdown ever. The countdown started at 241 days, and ended on November 20, 2004, when I got to marry my best friend.
After 4 years of dating, we got married. After 4 years of marriage, we're having a baby. I wonder where we'll be 4 years from now?
During our 4 years of marriage:
We have lived in 8 different places
We have Flipped 3 properties
We have Gone through 6 cars
I have had 6 different jobs
We have Started our own business
We have adopted a dog
Got have created a whole human person
Phew!!!
I know the readers of my blog know that I am crazy about my husband. He is a fantastic person who I enjoy being with more than anyone else. In the last four years our lives have drastically changed, as well as our perspectives and priorities. We have learned a lot of lessons, and encouraged each other through very trying times. We are totally different people today than we were when we were first married. Thankfully, the Lord allowed us to grow in the same direction, bringing us closer and closer together. I pray that this continues throughout our marriage.
Jarrod takes his role as a husband seriously, and acts in this role according to scripture. He truly is a servant leader, sacrificing himself daily for me. He leads this household with integrity. I can trust that decisions he makes are made prayerfully and with the right perspective, making it easy to submit to his authority.
I have been blessed beyond measure, and can't wait to spend the next however many years the Lord grants us together. I still remember what we said when we exchanged rings... I love it:
"With this ring, I thee wed and say to the world 'this is my husband, whom I cherish above all others.'"
Thank you for being my team-mate, my partner, my best friend, my protector, my spiritual leader, my back massager, my roach killer, my jar opener, my trash taker outer, my encourager, my safe place to vent, my accountability partner, my problem solver, my shoulder to cry on, my prayer partner, my coffee loving, tuba playing, God fearing, Phoebe chasing, poker playing, taco bueno eating, Mcdonald's Monopoly playing, treasure hunting, eschatology reading, husband and soon to be father of my son.
Now, a tribute to the past eight years:

Happy Anniversary, dear friend! This post was so sweet and meaningful, and I am encouraged as I look ahead to what I'll be able to say in four years of what the Lord has done in my own marriage. Thank you for your continual encouragement - I love you!
