2 months old!!!

Dear Levi,

Today you turn 2 months old. I was holding you in my lap earlier, and your hand was on my cheek. I was sitting there watching you sleeping and the phone rang. My first instinct was to get up and answer it, but I didn't. All I wanted to do was sit in that chair forever holding you and watching you sleep. I thought about what a relatively short time I have where you are small enough to sleep in my lap. I thought about what a short time I have where my lap is your very favorite place to be. And since I can't keep you my tiny baby forever, I just let the phone ring. You see, you are the very most important thing to me and I wish I could bottle up this time with you and keep it forever. I guess that's why I take so many pictures and videos of you.

This month with you has been so much fun. You started smiling on purpose!! My favorite times with you are while changing your diaper on the changing table. For some reason when you get up there, you are always all smiles and are so playful.

You are still such a good baby. You hardly ever fuss and when you do get a little fussy, there is always a reason. It's usually because you're tired and want to go to sleep. All we have to do is swaddle you up, and you fall asleep in a few minutes. You aren't quite sleeping through the night yet. The most you have slept at night is for six and a half hours. You make it very easy for me during your late night feedings though. You stir and grunt a little to let me know that you're hungry. I take you out and feed you. Halfway through, I unswaddle you, burp you, and lay you down on the bed and get ready to change your diaper. I get a wipe and clench it in my hand to get it warm, lean back and wait about one minute and you ALWAYS poo! ALWAYS!! I change your diaper, reswaddle you, feed you the rest, and you fall asleep. I hold you for just a minute and lay you down in your co-sleeper. You are always wide awake by the time your head hits the mattress. A lot of the times we look at each other until your blinks get longer and longer and you fall asleep. You These are some of my favorite moments with you - looking at each other, sometimes smiling, and falling asleep. While I look forward to getting a full nights sleep one day, I will miss that time with you.

I love you so much, Levi. I am so proud of you. Sometimes I just cannot believe how blessed I am. I love knowing you so well. I love being your mommy. I am sad another month has passed, but am thrilled that that passing month has brought smiles and spit bubbles! I know next month will bring even more joy.

I love you baby boy. You are my special gift from God, and you have given me more joy than I ever thought possible.

Love,

Your Momma

A little someone has a heart-melting smile... :) I loved the slideshow, and I think one of my favorite pics is the one of your two men looking at themselves in the mirror. It's so hard to believe two months have already passed!

Hi! I’m Mike Gatten, inventor of Miracle Blanket, and your blog was just brought to my attention. I noticed your mention of the Miracle Blanket and I wanted to say a HUGE thank you! As a matter of fact, we can’t thank you and others enough for helping us spread the word. We really want to help other parents avoid the all-too-common problem of sleep deprivation with a newborn, but we have found that getting the word out is incredibly difficult. People just don’t believe us when we tell them it might be “this easy.” The fact is, advertising doesn’t work for a product like ours, so we rely solely on word-of-mouth from parents and professionals who have been so great as to give us a try and then tell everyone about their experience.

To show my personal gratitude I want to thank you with a free Miracle Blanket! If you don’t need it for yourself you might give it as a gift or maybe a giveaway on your blog.

Please call Susan in Marketing and she will send you a free Miracle Blanket of your choice – really! (214) 675.0539.

And again, thank you so very much!

Mike
